This research aimed to compare the intelligence levels of middle-distance runners with sprinters. That included the random selection of 60 male samples, aged 17 to 25 years, including 30 middle-distance runners and 30 sprinters. The samples were categorized into two groups: middle-distance runners and sprinters. The J.C. Raven Standard Progressive Matrices was used to assess the IQ levels of both groups. The means of the intellect levels of both groups were compared at a significance level of 0.05. The outcome of the research has indicated that the difference of intellect between both groups was substantial as calculated t value (1.90) is more than the tabulate t value (1.671). This difference, which was statistically significant, indicates that sprinters may possess superior cognitive abilities such as faster reaction times, enhanced attention regulation, and improved decision-making under pressure. Understanding these cognitive differences more deeply could lead to more tailored mental training programs that enhance overall athletic performance.
