Forced Marriages and Women Trafficking in India: A study of Haryana

Abstract

An attempt is made in this paper to analysis the women trafficking from the poor states and forced marriages in the state of Haryana. An in-depth analysis of the reason and causes for women trafficking and their forced marriages in the state of Haryana along with its impacted on the life of the trafficked women is presented in this paper.  The paper also delves into the reason of   the increasing of the demand of women for marriage purpose from the other poor states of in the State of Haryana which is well known for the caste and male dominance. The socio-cultural    impact of these marriages on the socio-cultural set-up of the Haryana and the adjustment of the trafficked women to the new socio-cultural set-up and its impact on their lives are done in a comprehensive method in this paper.
