Abstract

The issue of child pornography represents a grave violation of children's rights and has significant legal, psychological, and societal implications. This discourse explores child pornography through the analysis of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, which was enacted in India to combat the sexual exploitation of minors. The Act provides a comprehensive legal framework aimed at addressing various forms of sexual abuse, including child pornography, emphasizing the necessity of protecting vulnerable children from exploitation and harm. The Act define child pornography and mandates the establishment of special code for the speedy trial, while facilitating a more child friendly judicial process by ensuring that the cases are handled sensitively and in an expedite manner, in order to mitigate the trauma and victimization experienced by the child victim to ensure their quick recovery.
