Abstract

This paper provides a comparative analysis of the distribution of marks assigned by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) in its examination framework and those asked in question paper of computer science in the year 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The inconsistencies in allocation of marks based on objective and actual representation are evaluated for Knowledge (K), Understanding (U), Application (A) and Skills (S) objectives. Separately statistical tools, including standard deviation and Chi square are employed to assess variability, to test the hypothesis of the study. The findings highlight critical misalignments, with significant in excess representation of Knowledge objectives and underrepresentation of others, leading to encourage rote learning rather than other higher order thinking skills.
