Domestic violence is a global concern that impedes the progress of communities and the well-being of individuals. It can be defined as a "pattern of abusive behavior within intimate relationships." Our constitution safeguards our individual liberties by acting as a guardian. The foundations of a healthy and flourishing community are undermined by the societal impact of domestic violence, which extends beyond individual suffering. The Indian legal system for dealing with domestic violence is looked at in this article. The rights of victims and the duties of law enforcement are explained.
