The exponential growth of population poses a significant challenge to sustainable development, resource management, and national security, making the formulation and implementation of a robust National Population Policy (NPP) a critical survival imperative. This research explores the multidimensional impacts of population dynamics on socio-economic development, healthcare systems, environmental sustainability, and governance. By critically analyzing the evolution, objectives, and outcomes of existing population policies, the study highlights both the successes and gaps in addressing demographic challenges. Drawing on demographic data, policy reviews, and global best practices, the paper argues that a forward-looking and inclusive NPP is essential to balance population growth with the carrying capacity of the nation. The research further emphasizes the role of education, women’s empowerment, health infrastructure, and public awareness as pillars for policy success. Ultimately, this study underscores the urgency of reimagining population policies not merely as demographic tools but as strategic frameworks central to national survival and sustainable development.
