Abstract

This paper explores the multifaceted contributions of Sudha Murthy to Indian literature, social work, and women’s empowerment. As a prolific author, Murthy’s writings vividly depict women’s struggles, societal expectations, and journeys toward self-realization,
thereby reflecting the evolving role of women in contemporary India. Her literary works, spanning fiction, non-fiction, and children’s literature, employ simple yet impactful narrative techniques, making complex social issues accessible to a wide audience. Beyond literature, as the Chairperson of the Infosys Foundation, Murthy has been pivotal in implementing initiatives aimed at uplifting underprivileged communities, with a particular focus on women
and children.
