Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between students' favorite colors and their figural creativity scores, focusing on originality, elaboration, and total creativity. A sample of 521 ninth-grade students from Aurangabad, India, participated. Data was collected from 44 students using the Baquer Mehdi Non-Verbal Creative Thinking Test (NVTCT-M). Statistical analysis using ANOVA revealed no significant differences in creativity scores across color preference groups. Additionally, categorization of creativity scores into low, medium, and high revealed patterns of commonality in distributions, with some colors showing higher representation in specific categories. The findings suggest that favorite color is not a determinant of figural creativity in the studied sample, and the null hypothesis (H0) is not rejected.
