The aesthetics of diaspora is something of variegated type. It seems a little difficult to compress all the shades of meaning in one phrase or sentence. Anyway, in the process of diaspora, one moves to a ‘new world’ physically and geographically along with ‘cultural arti-facts’ and native consciousness. Diaspora aesthetics is primly a narrative of displacement comprising feelings of homelessness, alienation, memory or remembrances, and romantic longings for eventual return. In regard to Indian diasporic communities across the world, the phenomenon is quite unique. They despite their lawful absorption into the host-land and severance from the homeland, continue taking interests in homeland progress and politics. In fact, this is a way to overcome the identity crisis. That is why they prefer to make their native distinctions dominant and all other non-native markers simply ancillaries.
