India, a secular nation with a rich tapestry of religious diversity, has witnessed a growing concern over forced conversions. This abstract examines the intricate interplay between freedom of religion and the issue of forced conversions in India, providing a socio-legal perspective.
The Indian Constitution guarantees the fundamental right to freedom of religion, including the right to practice, profess, and propagate one's faith. However, the misuse of this right has led to instances of coercion, intimidation, and undue influence to compel individuals to convert to a different religion.
