Understanding Burnout and Stress Management Among Healthcare Workers: A Case Study of National Capital Region (NCR)

The National Capital Region (NCR) of India serves as a crucial hub for healthcare services, providing care to a diverse and dense population. This case study examines the phenomenon of burnout among healthcare workers in the NCR, focusing on the primary causes and effective stress management strategies. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study combines quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data. The findings reveal that high workload and emotional strain are significant contributors to burnout, with healthcare professionals frequently experiencing physical exhaustion, mental fatigue, and emotional disconnect. To combat these challenges, various stress management strategies are explored, including self-care practices, professional support, and organizational interventions. The study underscores the importance of a multifaceted approach to managing stress and highlights the need for systemic changes within healthcare institutions to foster a sustainable and supportive work environment. The insights gained from this research provide valuable lessons for healthcare systems worldwide, emphasizing the critical need to address burnout and enhance the well-being of healthcare workers.
