Abstract

Water is one of the most precious, abundant, wonderful and essential natural resources on the earth for maintaining life and environment. All living organisms, plants as well as animals need fresh water to maintain their life. In modern era urbanization and industrialisation deteriorated the water and other natural resources due to their over exhaustive exploitation. Water quality analysis is an essential parameter to be studied when overall focus is on development keeping mankind at the focal point. The present study was conducted to analyse the various parameters of underground water in an urban area of Jind Block, Haryana, India ,and to verify fitness  drinking purposes. Twenty samples work collected from the different sampling location in kalind polythene bottle and analysed for different parameters like PH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), total hardness (TH), Calcium, Magnesium, total alkalinity (TA), carbonate, bicarbonate, Sodium, Potassium, chloride, sulphate, nitrate and phosphate. All parameters were compared with the  desirable limit prescribed by the World Health Organisation (WHO), Bureau of Indian standard (BIS),& Indian Council of medical Research (ICMR) standard of drinking water parameters. It is concluded that the result quality of the water supply system in different localities of Jind block is of low to medium quality and can be used for domestic use only after suitable treatments. Various suitable suggestions were made to improve the quality of water.
